St. Sophia Cathedral bell tower
Saint Sophia Cathedral is not only the oldest religious site in Kyiv, but also one of the best places to enjoy scenic views of the city. From a height of 76 meters, you’ll see a picturesque panorama of Sofiiska Square, St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Monastery, and Kyiv’s historic cityscape.
In winter evenings, the scene feels especially magical, with the capital’s main Christmas tree glowing below.

Volodymyrska Hill
Volodymyrska Hill Park is one of the coziest places in the city for a walk and a quiet pause with a view. From here, you can see Podil, Kontraktova Square, Trukhaniv Island, Obolon, and Kyiv’s residential neighborhoods.
The park has small gazebos, benches, and walking paths that lead to several viewpoints, each offering a different angle on the city — and plenty of opportunities for photos.

Glass Bridge
Near Volodymyrska Hill Park is the Glass Bridge, one of Kyiv’s most popular viewpoints and photo spots. From here, the city opens up in a wide panorama, with views of the Dnipro River, Trukhaniv Island, and Podil. The open design and glass panels in the floor make the city feel especially close — almost like floating above it.
Many people come here early in the morning to catch the sunrise and see Kyiv in soft, early light.
Zamkova Hora (Castle Hill)
Walking up the stairs from Andriivskyi Descent, you reach Zamkova Hora — a quiet hill with a mystical past that feels far from the city noise. From here, you can see St. Andrew’s Church, the old streets of Podil, Shchekavytsia Hill, and the Dnipro River below.

Motherland Monument
The Motherland Monument is the tallest monument in Kyiv and one of the most recognizable features of the city skyline. There are two observation decks here — one at the base of the statue and another on its shield.
The lower deck sits 36 meters above ground. From here, with the help of binoculars, you can take in green hills, the Dnipro River, and Kyiv’s historic neighborhoods. If you want to go higher, the deck on the statue’s shield, at a height of 91 meters, offers a very different perspective — Kyiv unfolds below like a map.
- Address: 27 Lavrska Street
- Ticket price: lower deck – 150 UAH; shield ascent – 1,000 UAH
Great Lavra Bell Tower
The Great Lavra Bell Tower is the tallest bell tower in Ukraine, located within the grounds of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra. It has four levels open to visitors, each offering different views — over the Dnipro River, the Lavra complex, Kyiv’s residential neighborhoods, as well as the Motherland Monument and the large Ukrainian flag nearby.
The highest observation deck requires a separate ticket. Reaching it means climbing 374 steps, but the effort is rewarded with one of the best panoramic views in the city.
Golden Gate
The Golden Gate is one of Kyiv’s most famous architectural landmarks, but not everyone knows there are viewing platforms on its four levels.
From here, the view opens over Reitarska, Zolotovoritska, and Volodymyrska, three historic streets in central Kyiv, along with some of the city’s most beautiful buildings — the Podhorskyi House, the Syrotkin House, and St. Sophia’s Cathedral.

The terrace features an elegant bar counter with high stools, making it an ideal spot for signature cocktails at sunset or after dark, when the city lights come on. A selection of European and Asian dishes is also available, which makes B-hush a great choice for a relaxed dinner with views of Kyiv in the warmer months.
