Aviation Museum
About Aviation Museum
The Aviation Museum is the largest historical and technical aviation museum in Ukraine and one of the most notable in Eastern Europe. Located outdoors next to Kyiv’s Zhulyany Airport, it features more than 80 aircraft and helicopters, from civil to military models.
Visitors can learn about aviation history and see the equipment up close. Several aircraft are open to the public, so you can step inside, sit in the pilot’s seat and get a sense of being at the controls.
Notable exhibits include:
- Aircraft from the Antonov Design Bureau, known for its giant transport planes;
- A large collection of aviation engines;
- Examples of military equipment and armaments;
- Former military and civil aircraft that once operated real flights.
The main outdoor exhibition is temporarily closed due to the ongoing war, but part of the collection and a new exhibition dedicated to the current Russian-Ukrainian war can be viewed in the hangar of the National Aviation University, including fragments of downed drones and missiles.
