About Zhovten Cinema
Zhovten Cinema has been operating in Podil since 1931 and is regarded as the oldest working cinema in Kyiv. It is housed in a Constructivist building on Kostiantynivska Street and originally opened under the name Deviate Derzhkino.
The first screening took place on 29 January 1931. The building has remained in use as a cinema ever since.
Today, Zhovten has six screens. Its programme includes Ukrainian and international releases, arthouse and documentary films, festival selections, and mainstream cinema.
