Theater on Podil
About Theater on Podil
Theater on Podil is a contemporary venue with 253 seats on Andriivskyi Descent, where Ukrainian classics share the stage with bold dystopian productions and fresh premieres. Once an icon-painting workshop, it is now one of the most technologically advanced theaters in Ukraine: the stage rotates, the floor changes angle, projections merge with physical sets, and rain, fog and even scents create a full immersion effect. Thanks to carefully designed acoustics, the sound is equally clear from every seat.
On the programme: Ukrainian classics such as Do the Oxen Low When the Manger Is Full? alongside productions based on iconic novels like A Clockwork Orange, 1984 and The Trial. All performances are in Ukrainian, and the most anticipated shows often sell out the day tickets go on sale.
The theater is fully accessible: performances include sign-language interpretation, audio description and subtitled tablets. There’s also a supervised playroom where children can stay while parents enjoy the show.
Before the performance, you can place an order at the bar, and during the intermission you’ll just come back to your table with everything already served.
Tickets start at 200 UAH. If you’re aiming for the most popular shows, it’s best to grab them the moment they appear on the schedule.
