About Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater

The Kyiv National Academic Operetta Theater is located at 53/3 Velyka Vasylkivska Street, just a short walk from Olimpiiska metro station.

The theater was founded in 1934 as the State Theater of Musical Comedy. It later became the Kyiv State Operetta Theater and eventually received both academic and national status.

Today, it remains the only theater in Ukraine specializing in operetta. Its repertoire also includes contemporary Ukrainian and international musicals, musical comedies, Broadway productions, concert programs, and experimental projects.

After a major renovation completed in 2021, the historic building was upgraded with modern stage technology and technical equipment. The theater now has six performance spaces of different sizes, hosting musicals, concerts, chamber productions, and experimental performances.
