About Verkhovna Rada Building

The Verkhovna Rada Building is the main building of Ukraine’s parliament, located in Kyiv’s government district at 5 Mykhaila Hrushevskoho Street.

The building was constructed between 1936 and 1939 based on a design by Ukrainian architect Volodymyr Zabolotnyi. It was built in the Ukrainian Classicism style of the 1930s. Its light-colored facade features a colonnade, while a glass dome rises above the central part of the building.

Today, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine holds plenary sessions in the building, where members of parliament debate bills and vote on legislation.
