Hummus and jazz concerts: a Polish gymnast shares her favorite places in Kyiv
Favorite places of a Polish aerial gymnast
Klaudia Brzezinska is a Polish IT specialist and aerial gymnast who has been living between Poland and Ukraine for the past three years. For her, Kyiv has become a place of inner transformation, where she discovered new opportunities and new perspectives on life. During this time, Klaudia not only adapted to the city’s rhythm and learned Ukrainian, but also discovered inspiring events, performances, and people who motivate her.
In an interview for VisitKyiv.com, Klaudia spoke about her decision to move to Kyiv and how she perceives the city during wartime. The team also gathered Klaudia’s favorite places in Kyiv, where she enjoys spending her free time.
Klaudia’s Picks:
- Jazz Club 32 — a live jazz club in Podil that regularly hosts live performances and concerts. The New York–style jazz club interior and intimate atmosphere make it a comfortable spot for an evening out. Signature cocktails and tasty dishes complement the musical experience and can be enjoyed during the performances.
- National Philharmonic of Ukraine — the country’s main philharmonic concert venue, located near Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti), where Klaudia likes to take walks after training sessions. It was here that Mykola Leontovych’s “Shchedryk” was performed for the first time — the same piece known worldwide as “Carol of the Bells.” Today, the Philharmonic offers a wide program of live music, ranging from classical and symphonic concerts to choral performances.
- Hum:Hum — Ukraine’s first fast-casual hummus spot, located in Podil. The highlight of the venue is its hummus served with a variety of toppings and sides. Klaudia is vegan and loves this place for its wide selection of dishes, as the menu includes many vegan options: appetizers, bowls, salads, and desserts.
