About Kyiv Zoo
Founded in 1908, Kyiv Zoo is one of the oldest and largest zoos in Eastern Europe — and among the biggest in Ukraine, spanning more than 34 hectares. It is home to over 300 species of animals, including those listed in the Red Book of endangered species, such as the Asian elephant and the Amur tiger.
What makes Kyiv Zoo special
- Zoo residents. Here you’ll meet elephants, lions, adorable penguins, and exotic birds. All animals live in spacious enclosures designed to resemble their natural habitats and ensure their comfort.
- Eight themed zones, including the Jurassic Park area, Primate Island, terrarium, aquarium, aviaries for birds and large mammals, a reptile zone, and a petting zoo.
- Children’s zoo. Young visitors can interact with friendly domestic animals like goats and rabbits. There are also outdoor playgrounds for active fun.
- Scenic ponds with waterfowl add a peaceful and cozy feel to the zoo’s landscape.
- Green walking areas. The zoo is a lovely place for a nature stroll, with quiet paths, benches, and shady corners to relax.
