Chary is a local restaurant where traditional Ukrainian dishes are reimagined in a modern way. It’s located in central Kyiv — a 15-minute walk from the Golden Gate metro station and 10 minutes from Saint Sophia’s Cathedral.
What to try at Chary
Main menu
Appetizers, salads, potato pancakes (deruny), dumplings (varenyky), sides, and desserts.
Signature items include mini-chebureky, kotletka-bar, and a mini Kyiv-style perepichka.
Soups range from red borscht to broth with quenelles.
From the grill (hosper): fish, meat, and vegetables cooked over an open flame.
Lunch sets
Available daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Choose 2 or 3 dishes and a drink — mix and match from menu sections: borscht, dumplings, cutlets, soups, sides, and more.
Kids’ menu
Available daily from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
Options include kids’ borscht, broth, dumplings with meat, pike, or potato and mushrooms, chicken cutlets, and drinks.
Bar menu
Chary offers both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to suit every taste.
Non-alcoholic: uzvar (dried fruit drink), kompot, lemonades, fresh juices, coffee, tea, and mocktails.
Alcoholic: house infusions, classic and signature cocktails, vodka, brandy, whiskey, rum, tequila, and beer.
Wine
Ukrainian and imported wines are served by the glass or bottle.
